It gives me great to announce our first late night Ragas concert with Adrian McNeil on Sarod and Bobby Singh on tabla. In the system of classical music of North Indian classical music there are different Ragas for the different times of the day, night and time of the year. In most concerts in the West we mostly get to hear early evening or night Ragas, but rarely the very powerful and deep late night Ragas. The performance space is a beautiful room set up in the traditional "baithak" style on beautiful sheets and cushions with the audience and musicians meeting in an intimate and informal atmosphere. We do have chairs for people who are not used to sitting on the floor but they are limited. This is an artist run space to keep our traditional music alive in Sydney so we have volunteers helping at the concerts and do not have a pre-booking system so it is a first come first serve basis. But while you are waiting you can have dinner in the main part of the restaurant and enjoy some of the best South Indian food in Sydney ably hosted by Sree Ram and his team from Kammadhenu!!! So this will be a very special night that we are all looking forward to and hope to see you all there.
