Soul Stirring Meditative Indian Classical Music Concert, Featuring one of India's leading Sarod player Anindya Bannerjee & Bobby Singh on Tabla

Dear Friends

Our upcoming concert at Macquarie University will be an evening of Hindustani classical music in the traditional baithak style, it will feature visiting master musican Anindya Banerjee on the Sarod and accompanied by Bobby Singh on the Tabla.

These two musicians represent one of the oldest musical systems in the world and have been studying with their masters in the strict master disciple tradition for the last 30 years in India, This is a rare chance to come and experience this music in your home town and be truly moved by the passionate and deeply devotional music that epitomizes the Indian music culture.

Ragas are mostly improvised and each has its own mood and expression which the musicians try to capture and experience in their own way. This sense of mood is heightened even more when the musicians are sitting so close to the listeners in an intimate room where there is no sense of separation and where you can get drawn in to the subtle, soulful sounds of the music.
